The small sweet fruit have been semi-cultivated by the Zuni of northern New Mexico for more than a century. Originally collected in New Mexico from the Zuni Pueblo area, these seeds have been grown out with loving care in our farm fields, about 30 miles from the Zuni Pueblo.
These tomatillos can be roasted in an oven, blended with garlic, onion, chile, and cilantro for hot sauce.
